holidays

FAMILY ❤️

Day & a half with FAMILY – just what the doctor ordered.  Peace.

Lotta details this past Fall.  11 marathons including a new Canadian PR.  6-month stomach woes diagnosed – intestinal parasites (never mind heat & humidity/don’t drink water from random paper cups during a Brazilian marathon).

Lunch at Calico County (fried green tomatoes – YUM!)  Both Saturday/Sunday nites, living-room movies with FAMILY.  “I Can Only Imagine” – awesome flic ‘bout Forgiveness.  ‘Abusive dad’ themes generally I avoid.  Good film.

Church morn Sunday with Mom brought clarity.

Dog who attacked Ro was someone’s pet.  It wasn’t a rogue animal.  Aside from filing a Police report to keep the Public (my Louisville neighbors) safe, that’s that.  All vet bills were picked up by Pup’s kennel.  Excellent care – wrong righted.

Unexpected things happen in life.  If your child is injured at school, you don’t kill the other kid in retaliation (though I tell ya, that was my gut first 2 days).  Life forward.

Mom, Bro – love ya to the moon & back.

Mark your calendars.  Registered for the Fort Smith Marathon in February.  Team 4-Layer Delight & Sis RETURNS (celebrating Williamsburg Kitchen’s 40th anniversary)!  Bro – you & your ugly bent finger are running the third [relay] leg.  Surprise 🙂

UPDATE:  Back home, all tech’d up for 2019.  Thanks everyone!

5:45am return flight, Christmas morning – going HOME.

Blessed with THREE celebrations this year, holiday season ended at Ash & Tom’s Colorado home.  Ham, $30 mac n cheese (sooooo much CHEESE), homemade desserts x2 – pie AND cheesecake 🍴🥧

Gift giving highlights?  Garden gnomes, Tom’s beer toting tie & a new Chromebook for Ash.

Someone’s taking notes next semester – first class toward a possible Master’s degree.  She’s crazy smart – but y’all know it’s a tough balancing act working full-time, while saving the world one homeless pet at a time.  Fingers crossed.  Not easy wearing a cape, gal’s a SUPER HERO.

Merry Christmas from snowy Colorado.

Wishing ALL good health, much laughter & more adventure in 2019 🙂

9 years in Connecticut, never been to Coventry.  Certainly never seen divine Miss M’s new digs.

*BIG NEWS*  Michaela & Eli closed on their FIRST HOME post-Thanksgiving.  Busy time o’ year.  Move, unpack, design, decorate.  Housewarming party TWELVE days later.  Whaaaat?  Only Michaela could pull off that kinda impossibility.  Living room rug arrived morning of their party.  Timing!

Wood floors throughout.  Downstairs Master, two bedrooms upstairs, full basement, comfortable kitchen & a laundry room.  Outdoors?  Acre+ of TREES & a BRAND NEW PORCH.  Homing together.  Eli’s gas grill, Michaela’s patio furniture (umbrella/table/chairs).  Summer invite please 😊

Close 5-minute drive up Riley Mountain Road, holiday’d at Jill & David’s country home.  Their second year in Coventry – lovely bi-level, ROCK fireplace, outdoor pergola, whole lotta natural wood.

M designed the PERFECT room for Dave – a Disney World EXPLOSION.  All his favs accessible & on display.  Permanent SMILE, surrounded/walled with LOVE.  So happy lil’ man.  Heart soar.

Downstairs, holiday dinner/all the fixin’s.  Spiraled ham, deviled eggs, Grandma Paralee’s dressing recipe, M’s sweet potato casserole.  Folks, THIS is why I marathon.  Much food in my belly.  LOL>

Post-meal X-Mas exchange.  Disney collectibles/new computer for Dave, clothes/purses/shoes for Michaela.  Jill & I also gifted this holiday: filtration-strawed Brita bottle (him), sea turtle lamp (her).

FULL MOON on the Mass Pike, nite-finished with generational activities.  M took Sis’ T-rex purse for drinks while Papa black-n-white nestled to ‘The Bishop’s Wife’.  2 States down, one Christmas to go 🎄
