Weekend half-absorbed over the Pacific. Denver-to-LA flight canceled, so had to think fast/shell out $$$ to same-day arrive & catch my Air Zealand connection. Yikes!
Auckland uber pickup, destination: Quest Newmarket Hotel. Check-in & my first Triple 8 meetup in the hotel lobby — Mika from Finland! Will formally meet ALL tomorrow.
FREE day first day. Sleep, don’t sleep… or – go for a run 🙂
Goal to NZ acclimate as soon as possible. No marathoning ‘til Tuesday.

War Memorial Museum. Wintergarden. HIGH HUMIDITY, ducks/swans & Cricket.
Fancy eats & early zzz’s post-run. 10-hour coma in my first night future. LOL>

2 roller bags & a backpack – all personalized, embroidered names on the outside. 10 days out from my New Zealand departure, received our Team luggage. Woo-hoo!
Email communications now happening daily. What to pack, what to expect, weather conditions, airport pics & upcoming hotel accommodations. Food restrictions anyone?

Gonna travel the GLOBE! West from my Colorado home, ‘cross the Pacific. Africa, Europe, the Atlantic, every continent. 26.2 miles on ALL Earth’s major land masses. WOW!
Airline apps loaded on my Phone. Booking confirmations input.
Reservation set for Ro with his Rover family, a short mile away.
Large roller bag packed for Antarctica. Sleeping bag, REI liner, crampons, beanies, gloves, socks, extra shoes – and so much FOOD. Will not go hungry, bottom of the World 🙂
Ash & Tom to meet me in New York & trade out luggage (race #6, North America). Plan in place… just gotta finish FIVE marathons first. Never have I ever. Yikes!
