Run the Year – July Newsletter
Hey 2016ers. Did you know this challenge is supposed to be difficult??
If this challenge were easy it would not hold the same appeal. Taking on a challenge where there is a real possibility of failure is exciting and terrifying and nerve-wracking. The desire to face our own limitations, to overcome obstacles, and finally accomplish what we could not manage previously, is what makes a challenge like this so enticing. That’s what makes this challenge, and you, special.
No matter where you are on your journey, commit to going extra hard this month. Commit to getting in more miles in the next 31 days that you have all year. Embrace the difficulty of the task you have chosen and know that the more obstacles you have to face, the greater the feeling of personal satisfaction and fulfillment you get from each milestone. Keep rocking the miles!
Past two months, have topped 200 miles/month – that’s a lotta morning treks 🙂 #happyendorphins
Decided to share a few morning faves over the upcoming months, in a new segment titled ‘morning run series’.
Kicking off things with my local ‘go-to’ run – whenever short of time but still wanna post a quick 5 miles. Literally step out the front door, trek Louisville to Lafayette, circle 2 reservoirs & catch a high Colorado sunrise over our local Flatiron peaks. FAAANNNTASTIC!
- LOVE LOVE my Colorado life!
- 2-mile cool down w/ my best mate Ro
morning run series: Waneka Lake
Celebrated National Running Day with a 7 mile run – only 2 days after marathoning in Idaho. He’s baaaaack.
Each year on the first Wednesday in June, people across the United States participate in National Running Day. This day was designated as a day for runners to reaffirm their passion for running. It is also a good day for beginners to begin a life-changing commitment to running.
- unexpectedly, showed up in an ad for Nebraska’s Monument Marathon
- finally, CONSISTENCY!
