It’s not just for physical fitness, but for emotional and mental fitness, and really to be a part of something that is so much bigger than yourself ~ Deena Kastor, Olympian & American record holder

Global Running Day and ice cream?  Heck yeah, sign me up!  Runners Roost Ice Cream Social, first group run in weeks.  New faces, new places.  Good to get out & connect.

Google-mapped my route.  Shorts, pair of Brooks, Jaybird tunes.  4 miles from our local Runners Roost.  Why car-commute to Global ‘Running’ Day, right?  2 legs, will travel.

Harper Lake, Davidson Mesa Trail.  Peeled off mile 5 & tagged a few new Louisville streets (on my way home).  Every SINGLE Street – it’s a 2019 Louisville reality 😊

Happy Running!  Dig this day, get out & move! ❤️

summer weather, season change

May 2019 update:  GREAT food, self-reflection, much needed change in direction.

March’s 50-mile fail was a HUGE disappointment/BIG mental drain.  Turned that frown/upside down in Milan ITALY.  Pasta, fresh fish.  GREAT sauces.  Trains, boats.  Chocolate.  Milano Marathon, super experience.  Returned home INSPIRED.

Break from my gym (6-month contract hiatus).  Running outdoors: ‘Every LOUISVILLE Street’.  No doctors, no meds.  Year from professionals.  Positive vibe requirement.

Happy friends, yes.  Negative Nellies, see ya 2020.  I choose METhe JOY is back.

Route 66 Challenge.  Memorial Day time goal missed.  And missed by a bunch.  300+ miles short.  It’ll still happen.  I’ll finish the next 2 months, over Colorado summer.

Positives?  1900 miles completed.  FOUR 50K finishes, first Half 2019.  One state shy from marathoning all 50 – AGAIN.  Wild West FINISH: June 2nd in Deadwood, SOUTH DAKOTA!

Race ReCap:  4 marathons, 2 50Ks & our annual Bolder Boulder (of course).  5 different states & Milan ITALY.

Marathoning Streak:  66 months; EVERY month, FIVE+ years.

Mileage ReCap:  ended May at 1913 miles (missed Memorial Day GOAL by 367 miles)
