JOURNEY TO THE WORLD OF PUMPKIN NIGHTS

A 40-foot long dragon. A ghostly pirate ship. An undersea wonderland.

Explore fantastical lands, built using over 3,000 hand-carved pumpkins and funkins.

There’s more magic around every corner.

For those of us without in-house trick-or-Treaters, whatta awesome idea.  PUMPKIN NIGHTS.  Celebration of All Hallows’ Eve starts NOW.  Friday post-work drive to Brighton, Ash pre-purchased 7 o’clock tickets (thanks kiddo ❤️).

Jack-o-lantern MAGIC.  Literally THOUSANDS of pumpkins.

Carvings scary, carvings jolly.  pumpkin PIRATE, pumpkin turtles.  Ginormous OCTOPUS pumpkin, pumpkin lanterns – and of course, the traditional holiday DRAGON.  LOL>

SUPER FUN nite.  Happy Halloween 2018 – let the TRICKS begin! 🎃

Somehow lost in the excitement of year-round marathoning, our local Lafayette Peach Festival dropped off my radar – missed the past 2 years.  Luckily [thanks to Ash], World’s back on its axis.  Spin on, folks.  Kiddo scoped out the date, marked the calendar – absolutely ZERO chance of missing this year’s offering.  Palisades peaches.

Sweetest, juiciest and messiest PEACH on the Planet.  YUM!  Group-purchased a FULL flat with Ash & Tom this year.  $45/box; not cheap but mighty deee-lish.  Ate ‘til my gut protruded; pitted/quartered/froze the rest.  Will be a welcome treat when the snow flies 😊

the Tale of Colorado’s GREAT SUMMER PEACH doesn’t end there.

Tuesday Aug 21st – SIXTH year of shark tornadoes AND a slice of HOMEMADE PEACH pie.  Birthday Pie #2.  Different crust, different fruit – result?  Our Betty Crocker of the Rockies homered again, outta the Park.  Not just a baker, Ash’s a PIE-making SAVANT.  True life talent revealed.  Away with the mixer.  Buttercream piping – be gone.

Hear ye! Hear ye! I Decree: BIRTHDAY PIE, every year 🥧❤️

After a MONTH of over-the-top TRAVEL, next 25 days of Colorado-only comes open-arm welcome.  Appreciate the amazing opportunity to see/experience so many diverse cultures & landscapes – #luckyinlife super thankful – just missing my Rocky Mountain home.  All ’bout Balance.

August 1st – Colorado Day (1876 statehood), free access to all State Parks

August 2nd – Grandpup Marty’s first day with Ro & Papa.  Ash & Tom flew East Coast to see family/friends AND attend another summer wedding.  Papa doubled his Pup count for a week; Ro gained a hunting partner.  Rabbits.  Squirrels.  ALL MUST DIE.  Morning/noon/evening walks ‘round our two local reservoirs, Hecla & Waneka.  Kill count 2 this season.

Saturday morn – hometown Downtown.  ATM-robbed my bank account then a personal best to self-support Louisville’s Farmers Market.  Duck eggs, dried fruit, craft Kombucha & jarred pickles.  BUY, BUY, BUY.  Finished off the a.m. with breakfast at Huckleberry’s: corned beef hash & eggs.  FAAANNNNTASTIC!  A-ok to fall off the diet wagon every now ‘n then, right?

Late afternoon movie.  No one outgrows Pooh, EVER.  GREAT to be Colorado HOME! ❤️

Farm to Feet – 100% American Made Socks

Wanna keep it USA LOCAL with your socks?  My CT bestie forwarded the preceding link.  Pricier than your average WalMart tube socks but 100% comparable to SmartWool (my personal choice in running/hiking socks) – AND they’re USA made 🇺🇸

Subject: socks
From: Dawn

This one gets their wool from US source also (Smart Wool doesn’t).
Have you tried them? If so, how do they compare to Smart wool ones?
Oh, and I think the guy in the video may be a kindred spirit to you.

As always, wish we were closer because I miss you.
